The order Zingiberales consisting of Gingers, species of Costus and Musa has been planted along the slopes adjacent to Jalan Tembusu leading to another member in the order, the heliconias, in the Heliconia Garden. They are planted amongst other foliage plants such as the calatheas, dracaenas and aroids.
Heliconias, with their exotic and showy inflorescence and large leaves typifies the tropical garden. The collection in the Heliconia Garden showcase species and hybrids that are favourites. The fishpond in the garden with a small picture perfect waterfall makes a cool place to relax.
